Orchid Delirium

As an orchid lover, I was thrilled when I discovered that The Myriad Gardens in OKC is currently featuring an Orchid Exhibit at their Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. I highly recommend spending an afternoon enjoying the elegant orchid displays that happen to be creatively arranged throughout the conservatory. You will explore many types of orchids—different colors, species and hybrids, miniature and standard-sized, all different genus from various parts of the world.

All orchids belong to the orchid family, Orchidaceae. The most common type of orchid is the moth orchid, or the Phalaenopsis orchids. (This is the variety they sell at Whole Foods). Orchids are exotically beautiful plants, comprising of about 30,000 different species and over 200,000 hybrid varieties.

In honor of spring, I’m delighted to share my photos from the exhibit with you.  Each one of these orchids featured is absolutely exquisite and unique. I’m still having trouble deciding which one is my favorite.
